Hina
This hand-woven pure Tanchoi Benarasi is an astounding creation of Mitan Ghosh design. While the motif of this mulberry miracle brings out the knack of quintessential floral ‘jaal benarasi’, its kadua woven border and pallu gives an eclectic twist to it. The kadua weave pallu further is a tapestry of Mughal Paisleys, so quirkily conglomerated with the very Bangali ‘jaal naksha’ on its body. However the weave’s ingeniousness lies in its colour palate. True to its name Hina, the hue of this saree is a mesmerising dual tone chocolate brown. When reflected by light, the saree emanates a tinge of beautiful green, reminiscent to raw heena leaves, while its gravitas lies in base brown colour, similar to the hue of crushed heena leaves. A rare colour choice for a Tanchoi Benarasi, Hina therefore is an heirloom piece, apt to be preserved for generations to come.
