Pankajini
Purely handwoven Katan Silk Benarasi, this saree is as pristine as it gets. True to its name, the creation Pankajini is deeply vested on the attributes of the pious lotus flower. Pankajini is a glorious canvas, made of blush pink mulberry threads reminiscent to the lotus bloomed petals in all its glory. The golden and silver benarasi khadua buta all over the pink canvas weaves an illustration of the shine of the water, where the lotus thrives. The border of this saree is the most enchanting part of this woven tapestry. Along with kadua zari work, the border is an intricate artistry of the authentic benarasi kadhiyal weave bejewelled further with ever so mesmerising meenakari flowers. The meenakari on the border has significant strokes of broad green leaves which brings the inspiration of the lotus behind this saree to a full circle. It is rare to find a Benarasi, which can withhold the spirit of pure innocence along with the gravitas of this handloom. Albeit Pankajini does this most effervescently. When you bring this saree home, you are bringing one of the rarest Mitan Ghosh collections along, to be treasured as an heirloom for this generation and the next.
